Our Streets Now International Women’s Day 2025: Free Schools Resource

Our Streets Now has created a new free International Women’s Day 2025 resource.

Aimed at teachers, the resource is a 15-minute assembly with speaker notes to guide you through the topics effectively and with care.

This year’s theme is Accelerate Action, which calls for us all to emphasize the importance of speaking up and acting against gender-based discrimination and violence to reach gender equality.

The example of Public sexual harassment is emphasized as women and girls disproportionally continue to feel unsafe in public spaces; a video from Plan UK #ISayItsNotOk shows the reality of Public Sexual Harassment for young girls.

This assembly focuses on Our Streets Now’s unique and inspiring story of how a conversation between two young people sparked legislative and national change. Our assembly aims to inspire young people to be changemakers in their communities and for all students to be advocates for gender equality.

The resource effectively addresses lessons about gender inequality and public sexual harassment, ensuring that no student feels excluded from the discussion. It encourages students to think about how they can create change and what small actions they take to combat gender inequality.

You can find the International Women’s Day Assembly and support at Schools Resources — Our Streets Now.
